What a dental implant actually is
A dental implant is a small titanium post that takes the place of a missing tooth's root. Once it has fused with your jawbone, a crown is fixed on top. The replacement tooth looks and feels like a natural one, and it works like one too.
Implants can replace a single tooth, several teeth, or anchor a full-arch bridge. Unlike a bridge, an implant doesn't rely on grinding down the healthy teeth either side; unlike a removable denture, it stays firmly in place, so you can eat and speak with confidence.
At the clinic, every implant is planned in 3D using CBCT imaging before any surgery, so placement is precise. Where the bone needs building up first, techniques such as a bone graft or sinus lift are planned in and set out clearly in your treatment plan.
