For most UK patients, the question isn’t whether treatment in Bucharest is cheaper: it’s by how much, and whether the saving survives once travel is added in. This is an honest comparison, using real “from” prices at our partner clinic against typical UK private prices.
The short version: for most patients the total saving lands between 50 and 70%, and the gap is widest on larger cases where a few percent is a lot of money.

Illustrative worked examples
The scenarios below are illustrative only: they are not real patients, and every mouth is different. They’re here to show how the numbers tend to work once travel is included. Your own figures are confirmed in your written plan.
A single implant with crown. Around £800 in Bucharest, against roughly £3,000 privately in the UK. Even after a return flight and a couple of nights’ hotel, a single case like this can be close to break-even once travel is added. That’s why implants are often more worthwhile as part of a larger plan.
A full-arch case (All-on-4, one jaw). From around £3,740 in Bucharest, against roughly £14,000 in the UK. Here the saving is large enough that flights, hotel and any extras such as extractions or grafting still leave you well ahead, often several thousand pounds.
A set of crowns and veneers. A handful of zirconia crowns or ceramic veneers, each from £280 to £290 in Bucharest against roughly £850 to £900 in the UK, is where the percentage saving is consistently high and travel is easily absorbed.
Why Bucharest is cheaper
It’s a fair question, and the answer isn’t lower quality. The saving comes from a lower cost base: staff, premises and lab overheads are simply lower in Romania than in the UK. The clinic uses the same kind of modern equipment (CBCT 3D imaging, a 3Shape digital scanner, an in-house CAD/CAM lab) and quality materials such as Katana zirconia. Romania is an EU member state, and its dentists are EU-regulated and trained to European standards.
