What a Treatment Journey Looks Like, Step by Step

Deciding to travel for dental treatment is a big step, and most of the worry comes from not knowing quite how it works. This guide walks you through the whole journey the way you’ll actually experience it. There’s no jargon and no pressure, and nothing is decided until you’re ready.

Your first message

It starts with a few photos of your teeth and any recent X-rays you already have, sent through our form or by WhatsApp. That’s genuinely all we need to begin. Clear phone photos are fine, and you don’t need anything professional.

Our partner clinic’s dentists in Bucharest review what you’ve sent, and we come back to you (usually within 48 hours) with an indicative quote and a sensible idea of your options. There’s no charge for this, and no obligation to go any further.

Your consultation and written plan

Next comes a consultation by phone or WhatsApp. You talk through your situation, ask anything that’s on your mind, and get an honest sense of what’s actually involved: how many visits, roughly how long, and what each stage means.

You then receive a clear, written treatment plan. It sets out the recommended treatment, what’s included, the guarantee, and your price. The clinic normally charges €45 (about £40) for this planning work; for Tripdentis patients it’s free.

A note on prices: any figures you see before your scan are indicative “from” prices, not a final quote. Your exact price is fixed in your written treatment plan after a dental scan, once the clinic has reviewed your case. There are no hidden fees: the number you approve is the number you pay for your treatment.

Nothing is decided at this point. You read the plan in your own time, and you only continue if you’re happy with it.

Organising the trip

Once you’ve approved your plan, we help arrange everything around it. That means guidance on the best flights from London, Manchester or Birmingham (around three hours, direct), plus your hotel near the clinic, airport pick-up, and an English-speaking coordinator and translator for your appointments.

Flights and accommodation are your own costs, but we help you keep them sensible, and Bucharest is an affordable city. You travel; we handle the logistics.

Your treatment in Bucharest

You’re treated at our partner clinic, where a multidisciplinary team covers every dental specialty under one roof, alongside an in-house digital laboratory that designs and makes your crowns on site. Your care is planned in advance around your comfort and your schedule, with sessions spaced out sensibly rather than rushed.

Because everything from imaging to the lab is in one place, complex cases are handled by the right specialist without being referred elsewhere. That keeps your treatment joined-up and on time. Most treatment is completed across one or two trips, and your plan tells you honestly which applies to you before you commit.

Your aftercare, back home

Before you fly home, you’ll have clear written aftercare instructions and know exactly who to contact. Your treatment comes with a written guarantee on your implants and crowns, set out in your plan before any work begins.

Once you’re back in the UK, we stay reachable by phone, email and WhatsApp for any questions during your recovery. Occasionally a new crown needs a small adjustment to settle in. That’s a normal part of good dentistry, not a red flag, and because we’re your UK point of contact, we help you arrange whatever’s needed with the clinic. Your treatment is fully documented, so your own dentist at home has everything they need for routine check-ups.
